Elizabeth Thompson
Attorney Elizabeth Thompson recently joined the team of personal injury professionals at The Gooch Firm, P.C., representing clients in claims arising from auto accidents, medical malpractice, and pharmaceutical errors, among other injurious circumstances. Elizabeth, who goes by Liz in the office, was admitted to the Utah Bar in 2009. She graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University twice--first in 2006 when she received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and again in 2009 when she received her Juris Doctor.
Liz has always had a passion for written and oral advocacy. As a first year law student, she won the Best Brief award for her class and received top honors in her advocacy course. In her second year, Liz took second place at the 2008 George Washington University Religious Freedom Moot Court Competition where she argued in front of Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Justice Diarmuid Fionntain O'Scannlain, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Justice Jeffrey Sutton, and Kevin "Seamus" Hasson, founder and chairman of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. In Liz's third year, she took first place in the 2009 John L. Costello National Criminal Trial Competition and was recognized by the Utah State Bar Litigation Section for her trial advocacy abilities.
Liz has studied abroad in Spain and Mexico. She enjoys musical theater, digital scrapbooking, and spending time with her husband, Steven, and daughter, Elon.
