Kearns Man Killed in Construction Accident
Ricardo Carmona, a 31 year old Kearns man, was killed while installing a sewer line on Thursday. Carmona was standing in the middle of a manhole that was being installed, while a co-worker operated a trackhoe above him. According to Spanish Fork Police Lt. Steve Adams, the trackhoe operator tried to level the vertical concrete cylinder by pressing the bucket onto the edge of the 10-foot deep cylinder when a piece of the concrete broke off, and the bucket struck the man. Hitting Carmona in the chest the heavy object rendered him unconscious. Emergency personal responded, unfortunately Ricardo Carmona died.
In my professional line of work I represented many construction workers, or the victims of construction site accidents. I have even participated in a case that changed Utah law after going all the way to the Supreme Court. I know how dangerous a construction site is. When an accident occurs on a construction site those involved may deserve compensation. If you, a loved one, has been part of a construction place accident feel free to contact my office.
